🔎 Behind the Pixel

Today we are taking a look an adorable pulse animation! The border does a pulse move, and three tiny objects tag along.

Now, let’s peek behind the scenes! If you look at the element closely, you’ll see a CSS animation doing its thing on a pseudo element. Why use a pseudo element? Well, it’s a smart move if you want only the border to do the cute pulse dance without messing with the button text.

Wondering how the icons move? There’s another animation they all share.

And which way do they go? It’s all set in variables for each icon child! Pretty clever, right?

❓Did you know that…

…in June 1994, Louis Montulli at Netscape invented the HTTP cookie? The first real-world use of cookies checked if visitors to Netscape’s site had been there before. Montulli patented the technology in 1995. Interestingly, it was not widely known by the public until a Financial Times article on February 12, 1996, which sparked media attention and discussions about privacy, leading to U.S. Federal Trade Commission hearings in 1996 and 1997.

And that’s all! Thank you for reading the Collective! If you have something you would like us to feature in the next edition, simply reply to this email!
